It’s hard to believe it’s already December and we are decking the halls for the holidays! Nothing puts us more in the mood for Christmas then fresh fallen snow and we already have several inches here in Minnesota. Today we are sharing our latest decorating efforts, A Burgundy and Blush Living Room and are joining a fabulous group of bloggers for a Christmas home tour. Be sure to check out the list at the end of the post and head to the others for more Christmas decorating ideas.
We have a very open concept home and as you enter the foyer you can see the open stairway straight ahead and the formal living room and dining room on the left. We will share more details of the foyer all decked out soon!
Looking to the left of the stairs you can see our burgundy and blush christmas living room.
Our base colors in here are white and gray to ground the space. I love using a neutral palette for the base so I can easily add and change the accent colors as my mood changes. This year my accent color inspiration came from a faux fur burgundy scarf I had recently purchased. You can read more about that in our Christmas Tablescape post.
And then when I was at Homegoods one day I saw this burgundy velvet “Peace” pillow and the color choice was solidified.
The silk burgundy roses are new from Hobby Lobby but when I pulled out my Christmas boxes I realized I had plenty of burgundy toned Christmas decor. I just hadn’t used them in several years! Funny how mixing the old decor in with a couple new pieces and accent color gave them new life!
A look at the opposite side of the room shows the open concept. Can you spot my little photo bomber?
My accent colors last Christmas in the living room and on the tree were blush and gold. I decided to keep some of the blush but add in the burgundy for a different look. I have to say I’m loving the burgundy and blush color combo for Christmas in the living room!
I reused most of the Christmas tree trimmings but did buy some new ribbon. I purchased shatterproof burgundy ball ornaments from Target but already had many glass burgundy and blush ornaments from years past. I just had never combined the two colors before 🙂
The presents are starting to multiply under the tree!
