Fall is such a fun time of year here in Minnesota and it’s one of our favorite seasons to decorate for! The leaves change colors, and there is a cool crisp feeling in the air which makes us want to decorate our homes in a cozy fashion.
Fuzzy blankets, fall scented candles, warm color tones, pumpkins, all of it is such a fun festive time to decorate!
Today we have teamed up with a group of amazing bloggers all with loads of Fall decor inspiration. A special thank you to our dear friend Sheila from Maison De Cinq for organizing this tour! If you are coming over from Adventures in Decorating welcome! Doesn’t Becca have a beautiful light filled home? We just love her style! Be sure to check out the list at the end of our tour to see the rest of the participants.
And now to start our tour. We are sharing rooms in each of our homes to show how we decorate for Fall.
Let’s start with Kim’s home!
In my formal living room all I did was add a few touches to my normal decor to bring in Fall. A few pumpkins and throw pillows did the trick.
All of the metallic, sparkly pumpkins I had from last year. The only new ones I added are the two pink ones. I bought them at Michaels for 50% off and then embellished them with some paper flowers and rhinestones! Such a fun and easy DIY!
One of my favorite ways to decorate for each new season is to change out the throw pillows. I added the “Blessed” pillow, pink fur and gray leopard pillows for extra texture.
The soft color palette and sparkly metallics keep this room more glam and elegant while still bringing in a Fall look. Pumpkins don’t have to be orange!
In the kitchen the inspiration for the color palette was the light blue pumpkins I found at TJMaxx. When I saw these I knew right away they would look great with my end dining chairs!
I grouped the blue pumpkins in an antique wood crate to create a centerpiece then I filled it in with hydrangeas and leaves from the garden. The hydrangea dry very nicely this time of year with no extra steps necessary, just clip and go!
I cut several more hydrangea and placed them in my vintage mason jars on a tray for the island centerpiece. I love using flowers from the garden whenever I can! I found the cute pumpkin art at Kirklands and hung it above the cooktop for a touch of whimsy! The gather sign from Hobby Lobby takes center stage on the hood vent to remind us of the essence of the season; to gather with friends and family.
In my living room I decided to keep my neutral colors but add pops of fall! I have a few gold and neutral pumpkins on my accent tables and on my coffee table I added the most adorable black and white check pumpkins from Mackenzie Childs in a very old wooden rustic dough bowl.
On my mantle I carried the rustic touch and added wood blocks that spell out FALL!! Fresh flowers and another Mackenzie Childs pumpkin tie the look together!
Another thing I added on the mantle and a few other places around the house are fall scented candles from Gold Canyon. These bring in the perfect touch of fall!!
Moving on to my kitchen!
Again, sticking with the subtle pops of fall I stuck to a very simple centerpiece for my island…Apples!
I love this wooden pedestal bowl I have from Target and I thought it wood bring in some more rustic vibes like in my living room so what better thing to fill it with then Apples!!
Around the kitchen I have another adorable Courtly Check pumpkin, more candles, and a light up ceramic pumpkin to set the mood!
On my Kitchen table I kept it simple and added a fall floral arrangement that I put together myself. I bought three different sets of flowers from Trader Joes that I thought worked well together and assembled them into this fun brown glass vase. Then from there I just added a few pumpkins, candle votives and a table runner!
One thing that’s a bit different in my kitchen is the leaf and end chairs I recently added to my table! I added this for extra seating for a party I threw and now I think I’ll leave it like this! It fills the space well and I think its a fun change!
