When we moved into “the cabin” in 2013 bright colors and funky patterns were definitely all the rage but this Summer we decided to update it a bit and give it a mini makeover.
Here is what it looked like before…
And here is the after of the sleeping area…
To give this space a fresh look we simply painted the wall color and switched out the accessories!
We kept the antique headboards and vintage dresser, as we always like a little bit of vintage in a space to add character. For bedding we added these beautiful duvet covers by Linens and Hutch. We added benches at the foot of the beds as well as adding fun textured pillows. We also switched out the funky lamps for wood lamps to bring in some warmth. Above the beds we added mirrors and on the wall to the left of the beds we added a floral canvas print.
Now here is the after of the sitting area…
In the living room area we hung thrift store baskets above the couch and some fun prints from HomeGoods on the adjacent wall. We switched out the ottoman cubes for these woven baskets we found on clearance at Target. We think they go so well with the wood lamps, textured pillows and the baskets on the wall. It really tied the look together!
Again, we simply switched out a few accessories, like pillows, art, and we even layered rugs! We definitely were going for a neutral cozy look with lots of texture and we love how it turned out!
We love simple and easy makeovers, it’s crazy what I can of paint and a few new accessories can do! Thanks so much for reading, please don’t forget to subscribe to our email list to stay up to date on all our doings!!
