Hi friends! Today I am sharing the progress of our new flooring and giving a sneak peak of what’s happening so far. As I wrote in my post last week we are partnering with BuildDirect to get all new wood flooring on our main level! You can see that post and my vision board Here. We are super excited about the change and are loving it so far!
This is only about a third of the boxes that were delivered, but you can see the carpet that is about to get ripped out. This carpet is riddled with pet stains, so we are happy to see it go!
The family room carpet is being removed and since this carpet is in good condition we are reusing it in a different project.
The carpeting is gone and now to demo out the existing solid wood floors. What a mess that creates!
The old cherry wood floors that were discolored and cupping are gono!
We cleared out the smaller pieces of furniture and accessories and put them in the basement but the big furniture is being shuffled back and forth by our contractor. They are all behind the plastic in this shot.
And here’s a sneak peak of the new floor progress. They started in the sunroom and worked out.
The sunroom is done!
Now they are starting on the family room. It will be nice to have one continuous flooring between the sunroom, kitchen and family room.
More progress of the new flooring and sneak peak of the family room.
Looking into the kitchen from the family room. So far I love the look of this Jasper engineered white oak in the color Sedona Silver.
I can’t wait to get this project completed and get our house and lives back together! It’s not fun living in a construction zone but it will be well worth it!
Since demo and installation photos aren’t so pretty I’ve included a couple gorgeous inspiration photos that depict the style I love!
Love this beautiful French country dining room by designer Melissa Lewis from Romantic Homes
This gorgeous living room from the talented Jillian Harris has the perfect mix of rustic elegance that I love!
I hope you found this post of our new flooring progress and a sneak peak helpful and hopefully inspiring. We are so thankful to BuildDirect for collaborating with us and providing the material for this renovation. We hired a local contractor, Allied Flooring Inc, to do the demo and installation and so far we are loving what’s happening!
We invite you to sign up for our newsletter so you can stay updated on all our doings and the progress of the new flooring project. We have more room makeovers coming soon!
