Hello and welcome to the sixth and final week of the One Room Challenge where we are sharing our lake house master bedroom reveal. We have been working on this master bedroom makeover for the past five weeks sharing the progress along the way week by week. We have been participating in the One Room Challenge where bloggers all share the progress of their own room makeovers over the sixth week period. You can check our progress through the weeks in these past posts; Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5. Also be sure to check out the other bloggers room reveals on the One Room Challenge website.
Here is the design board that I made for the lake house master bedroom makeover and shared in week one.
Now let take a look where we started, basically a blank canvas.
And here is the AFTER!
Layer by layer we’ve added to the room starting with a shiplap feature wall in week two.
The main piece of furniture is this gorgeous tufted headboard from our sponsor Wayfair from the Greyleigh line as well as the beautiful chenille comforter set. I absolutely love them both! They add a luxurious and cozy cottage feel perfect for a lake house master bedroom!
Nightstands, lamps and art work were all a lucky find at Homegoods but I have sourced similar at the end of the post. The blue floral wall art carries over the blue from the accent chair across the room. I’ve had the sunburst mirror for several years in our main home but was no longer using it. I thought it would be a nice accent above the bed and yet not take away from the shiplap feature wall.
Layering in lots of pillows in gray and white makes the bed extra cozy!
A ceiling fan is a must for this room since there is no central A/C here at the lake house.
In my original design board I had a fur bench for the end of the bed. As I mentioned last week, I found these two x benches and the matching fur throw and thought they would work well in the bedroom. I love the silvery gray color and the fur throw gives the texture I was wanting.
The final piece that really pulled the whole room together is this gorgeous rug from Orion Rugs. This is the Seaborn natural indoor outdoor rug. It is so soft and I love how the high- low cut pattern mimics the pattern in the comforter.
This end of the room shows the closet and sliding barn doors we added in week three. I also added this cute blue tufted chair I found at the Goodwill for $15 to make a cozy reading corner.
The white flowy curtains are from Ikea and are a perfect match to the walls painted in Alabaster from Sherwin Williams. The wood trim and doors are all painted Pure White from Sherwin Williams.
Reggie seems quit at home in this comfy spot!
