One of my favorite spots to decorate in my home is my fireplace mantel. It’s also one spot that I change frequently. I change it seasonally of course, but often mid season too. I’m not sure why that is, maybe because its such a prominent focal point in the room that I get tired of it easily. Or maybe just because I get the itch to switch just to be creative.
Here is what I’ve done for a transition of my spring into summer mantel decor. When full on summer hits I’m sure I will change it again 🙂
One challenge the mantel has is that it’s not very deep. We added the top wood paneling a couple years after we moved in so it lost some depth. This limits the size of items I can put on it as well as the ability to layer too many items.
In this set up I’ve used two rose topiaries I found at a thrift store a few years ago. I then layered a pink door print from Hobby Lobby over the mirror on one side and added some fresh pink roses in a vase on the other side. This creates some symmetry but also gives a slight asymmetrical look, keeping it loose and casual, perfect for a spring into summer mantel decor transition.
Layering pillows and a light weight throw to the accent chair keeps the pink floral theme going, also perfect for a spring into summer transition.
Fresh cut roses is always a good idea, am I right? 🙂
This gold side table was a great find at Target! It’s so versatile I can use it anywhere, and it gets moved around a lot.
Stacking objects on old books is a favorite way to add height and character for the vintage vibe we love!
I love how this print repeats the topiary theme as well as having a pop of pink. Not to mention I’m obsessed with pretty door prints!
The bookshelves also got a little shuffling for the spring into summer season and I added some faux plants to give a fresh look.
There are many ways to decorate a mantel for spring and summer and I’m sure I’ll be changing this one up soon! If you follow Lacey and I on instagram you may see some changes from time to time 🙂
